ABOUT

Softspoken and incredibly generous, Robin, also known to many by his silly childhood nickname 'Curious', is the last person most expect to be a billionaire. But as a result from a rollercoaster of life events, he is.

Robin's wife, having passed away due to a murder while their family was in another country, left everything that she'd ever owned in his name. A gift clearly meant for different circumstances, that is instead more of a curse upon his life now. Losing both his wife and child, and stuck with in-laws as well as the general public who believe that he must have been behind it somehow, the only thing keeping Robin out of jail is the fact that evidence in court overwhelmingly pointed to his innocence. The public wasn't really interested in the facts however, and preferred the wild story they had already been pre-fed, leading to mixed opinions on him overall throughout the city. Nearly everyone knows who he is, and there are very few 'neutral' opinions on him, those either loving him for his generosity and genuine kindness, and others who believe the stories they've heard. The fact he's a billionaire doesn't do him any favors in public opinion however.

Height:5'0" - 8'0" Eyes:Blue
Build:Average Complexion:Pale and freckled
Hair Style:Fluffy Hair Color:Ginger
  • In his human form, he is 5'0", in his creature form he's around 6' on all fours and 8' on his hind legs.
  • His hair is naturally fluffy, but he also frequently forgets to wash or brush it, which makes it look larger than it is at times.
  • Tends to wear loose fitting and stretchy clothing, mostly old clothes that he tends to wear for weeks at a time. Avoids khaki shorts and white t-shirts unless he's feeling particularly awful.

PERSONALITY

Robin is the last person you'd expect to be rich, and certainly the last person you'd ever expect to be involved in a domestic homicide scandal, but he is regardless. His upbringing led him to always want to be kind to others, he's never left someone on their own if there was something he could do to help them out. He's very soft at heart, he'd much rather play his guitar and sing songs to people than hurt a single soul.

This fact never truly changes for him, even despite everything that's been going on in his personal life recently, he still, at his core, just wants to help people around him, even if they believe the worst of him. He gives money away like candy, donating to charities, leaving large tips at places he visits, and also often giving it directly to those who sound like theyre in a rough spot. Some love him for his kindness, others are wary about his intentions. He is, of course, completely genuine in his actions, he tries not to ever let having money get to his head, he never even wanted all this money in the first place, he's happy to get rid of it. This doesn't stop him from still having some of the side effects of being absurdly rich, his perception of money and how an average person lives their life has been warped a little. It never gets in the way of trying to help people, but it does sometimes to lead to awkward conversations when he may try to give advice without realizing he is only capable of things so easily because he got extraordinarily 'lucky'.

Public perception of him however has affected him, Robin struggles with a drinking problem, trying to wash away everything he's had to face. It's rare to see him sober, and while he never stops being kind to others, he's still quite a bit of a 'depressing drunk', and gets caught sobbing in public nearly as often as how much he gives money away. It's hard to blame him.

Look at him. do you think this is The Batter anymore. this guys only real connection to OFF anymore is his wife being named Eloha, his son being named Hugo, and having a friend named Zacharie. I took the batter and i twisted him into a pretzel so hard he transformed into an entirely different person. Sorry

SHORT BACKSTORY

Born to normal parents of average income in the city, Robin lived his life..pretty normally. After graduating high school and meeting a woman named Eloha, the two quickly grow close and decide to marry. What Robin didn't know, was just how rich she was. He didn't care for her money, and continued with her just for her, eventually the two adopted a child as well. On a trip in another country, the family happened to look too wealthy in the wrong place at the wrong time, resulting in disaster, and leading to public drama back home.

FULL BACKSTORY

Past
Robin grew up pretty regularly in the city. His parents were of average income, not too poor but not particularly rich either. He has two little brothers, twins named Jordan and Jaden. The three of them all had a great relationship, his little brothers got into cooking, and especially baking, meanwhile Robin found an interest in music. His parents gifted him a guitar for his 9th birthday, and he absolutely adored it and would play it frequently.

In school, Robin wasn't exactly popular, there was people who enjoyed his presence, mostly to request him to play things on his guitar, but overall, Robin was typically either an invisible kid, or on bad days, actively picked on. In high school, Robin made his first real close friend; Zacharie Martinez, although he went by another name at the time, having not come out as trans yet. The two's friendship was a bit awkward, and unexpected for the both of them. Their personalities didn't really seem to match up much, Robin was soft, quiet, and openly kind, whilst Zacharie was frequently rude, abrasive, and also had a habit of picking on other kids occassionally. Robin doesn't like that last part in particular. But the two got paired together for a group project, and managed to have a good time talking with eachother, after some initial turbulence. It certainly helped that Zacharie's family were rich, Robin would love getting to visit Zacharie's house and play all sorts of new games together. Not long after Zacharie would defend Robin when he was getting picked on by someone else, and the two grew closer afterward. Robin would try to get Zacharie to be a little more considerate to others, and for the most part he would say he succeeded, Zacharie did become a much nicer person, just tended to still sound aggressive in tone. Zacharie would eventually come out in their senior year, and Robin was very supportive of him.

After high school, the two would try and keep in touch still, and would make plans to hang out frequently. Unfortunately, not even 3 years later, Zacharie's mental health would begin to decline, and the two spoke less. When they did speak, it was often bad news. Unsupportive family, restrictive rules at home, having their name taken out of their parent's wills, and then one day, the news of being kicked out of the house. Robin offered for Zacharie to come live with him, but Zacharie would continuously refuse, claiming to not want to burden Robin and his family, that it was fine, and he'd already found an apartment. Robin was still concerned, but after awhile, wouldn't press the issue further, and just telling Zacharie that he could reach out if he needed help instead.

Sometime soon after Robin and Zacharie's interactions fell to near nonexistant, Robin would meet Eloha. Robin had been doing a street performance with his guitar, and she struck up a conversation with him after one of his songs. She invited him to go for coffee, and the two got along great, and continued to go out more often. After about a year of being good friends, Eloha asked him out for real. Robin was a little unsure, he'd never really been interested in dating, but he did really like being around her, and agreed. During their dating, Robin would find out that Eloha was apparently the daughter of a billionaire who had recently passed away, and left everything in her name. This obviously shocked Robin, it was certainly a bombshell to have dropped after being clueless for so long, but it didn't really change how he behaved around her, and their dynamic mostly stayed the same, especially since Eloha seemed to share similar values as him, and didn't quite care for the company business, preferring to participate in activism instead, even if it was...somewhat out-of-touch activism at times. They would get married not long after, and Robin moved into her home, which was a large suite on top of a tall building. Robin is a hard person to change out of the way he grew up, but it would be a lie to say that getting so much money suddenly didn't make him become a little more out of touch as well, having never had a real job before marrying Eloha, and still having no real job.

When Robin heard about his brother's wanting to start a bakery, he immediately jumped in to offer the starting funds for them, with the approval of Eloha. His brothers were elated, and gladly accepted, excited to start their dream business, and succeeding at doing so.
Around the same time, Robin would get back in contact with Zacharie again, though still not frequently. Multiple times Robin would offer to hang out again sometime, but Zacharie would often have excuses, and also flat out refused to ever let Robin inside his apartment. Eventually most conversations with Zacharie would just make him sad, but he still cared for his best friend, and would still keep trying to keep up conversations, worried that something bad may happen to him if he didn't given his previous knowledge of Zacharie struggling with his mental state.

About 2 years into their marriage, Robin and Eloha decided they would adopt a kid. They had considered trying regularly at first, but after a few doctor visits, Robin was found to be infertile, so they chose to adopt, and named their new son Hugo. Besides his struggles and concerns about Zacharie, which were still happening, life was going rather great for Robin, Eloha, and his family. Everything felt perfectly normal and happy. Until 3 years later, when Hugo would suddenly fall ill, and after some visits to the doctor and some tests, it was found Hugo had childhood cancer, and the prognosis didn't look good. Robin and Eloha would try their very best, but it was seeming like Hugo wasn't getting better no matter how much they tried.

A little after discovering this, Robin would get a more concerning call from Zacharie. Zacharie had mentioned having gotten a roommate before, but never spoke too much about him. But in this call, Zacharie would sound more distressed than normal, and like he was out of breath. He would refuse to talk about it beyond "having a problem with his roommate" and that "it's fine, dont worry about it". This just made Robin more worried, made worse by the fact that soon after Zacharie would drop contact again, not ever responding to texts or calls. Eventually Robin just had to let it go, and hope that everything was okay, and that maybe Zacharie would call again on his own time.

Things began to look bleaker for Hugo, and so Robin and Eloha would eventually make the choice to at least create one big happy family day for him, while he was still strong enough to, and the pair decided to take a vacation to another country on Lynxon. While there however, things would quickly take a turn for the worst, resulting in a situation that managed to blow Hugo's out of the water. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, the pair were mistaken for other people, and were taken hostage and bombarded with questions about crimes and grievances they knew nothing about. When the group did not believe them trying to say they have the wrong people, things would quickly escalate, the details become fuzzy in Robin's head, not wanting to remember any of it, but by the end of it, it had somehow led to Robin attempting to free them by taking one of their guns when there was only one person in the room, and, while successful, one of these men had grabbed and pulled Eloha in front of them, Hugo in her arms still, and Robin accidentally shot too late, managing to hit their captor, but also hitting Eloha and Hugo. Hugo had passed away instantly, Eloha struggled briefly, but quickly fell unconscious from blood loss. Being behind the both of them, the remaining captor was injured, but strong enough to try and fight back. Rushed on adrenaline still and the amount of grief over Eloha and Hugo though, would lead to Robin shooting the man multiple times until he was sure he was dead. He would then sit there and sob for hours, before finally crawling out of the dingy abandoned building and speaking to police.

Things would not go great after that. That country's police believed him, having had multiple similar cases the past few months, but police back home were less receptive. While they couldn't try him for a supposed crime in another country, they would begin to try Robin on any other charges they could get to stick, at the behest of some of Eloha's family, who were angry at her recieving everything her father owned, and disapproving of the way she would use it, as well as disapproving of Robin from the very start. While Robin and Eloha would generally try to stay out of the public eye, it was hard to do with who Eloha's father was and her sudden change in how the family money was spent. These eyes were all on Robin now, and many news organizations would begin to run with the more conspiratorial story that Eloha's family had spun up. While some more reputable places covered the story only as the actual facts were released, these taller tales would recieve more traction, turning Robin into a local controversy and point of infamy.

Robin would turn to drinking after everything that had happened, despite never being a huge drinker before, quickly falling into dependance on it to get through most days, his preferred place of choice being FELIS SUPERNOVAE, the largest club on the planet that also happened to be in the city he lived in. One of the owners would eventually make smalltalk with him, and then one day, as one of the more troubling court trials was about to come up, they would offer him the number of a lawyer that they claimed had almost never lost a case and could improve his reputation, and Robin, while wary, took them up on it out of desperation, it wasnt like things could get a lot worse, if he was sentenced to jail, he'd decided he would have sent out goodbyes and ended everything instead. They were right though, for the most part, and Robin was declared innocent of all charges, though his reputation didn't budge much. No one really cared about his case by now, and so he was stuck with the sensationalized story everyone chose to believe back at the start. He would continue to drink, becoming more isolated and talking to his family less and less, until it was just him, and his wine.

Current
Despite his deep depression, Robin still believes in helping other people. Eloha's death had meant all her assets were now his, and Robin didn't want it. He didn't care for her money in the first place, it was just convienent to have. Now he had no reason to care for it at all, instead deciding to think of it like a timer. He would use to help people he meets, and then one day, when it finally ran out, he would be done with life. So that was what he did, he began giving the money and assets away like candy to any cause or any person that he thought could use it better than he could.

While at FELIS SUPERNOVAE, a parallel leak would occur unbeknownst to most people, due to a secret parallel portal within the club, a large one at that. Most people at the club went unaffected, but Robin, sitting so close to where the hidden portal was, and unlucky enough for the magic to not have been shrugged off like most people, would be affected, becoming a werecreature and confusing him immensely. It was a stressful change, werecreatures were something that's mostly thought to be a myth on Lynxon. Trying to be 'normal' would only be even harder now. But luckily, it doesn't happen often, and while Robin cannot consistently control it, he would at least learn how to hold it back long enough to get home before it happened, even if it would usually hurt to do so.

Eventually one day at FELIS SUPERNOVAE, he would meet someone named Roberto, who chose to speak to him in an attempt to snap Robin out of spiraling into his misery. It worked, mostly, Robin sat up and held a proper conversation with him, even if a depressing one. When he realized that Roberto had been off planet for quite a few years, and knew nothing of what happened, Robin would tell the story in a drunken haze, the honest truth of what happened, and also how people were treating him. He worried initially, when Roberto would tense up slightly and change the topic. But their meeting at the club would become regular, and eventually Roberto would confess that he understood how Robin felt, that he'd been accidentally responsible for the death of nearly his entire spaceship's crew, though he left out most of the details of what he was doing in space after this event. Robin would start sobbing, grateful that at least someone could finally at least somewhat understand the guilt he was facing, and the two became closer friends.

One day on the way home from the club, a small mouse boy accidentally rammed into him, clearly running from something. The boy looked awful, dirty clothes, dirty and messy fur, scraped knees, and some visible bruises where his fur was thinner. Robin was never good at guessing ages for the anthros that lived on Lynxon, but the boy looked rather young, and clearly terrified. Robin asked if they were okay almost immediately, and the boy looked like he just wanted to keep running, but did pause to explain as best he could despite struggling to form full sentences. He told Robin he was running from a bad man, who hurt him very badly, that he was going to run as far as he could forever. Incredibly concerned now, Robin told the boy to come with him, that he would keep him safe. He was wary of Robin's offer, understandably, but reluctantly chose to go with him, and Robin helped him get cleaned up back at home, went out to buy him new clean clothes, and allowed him to sleep in the guest room. As a result of this, Robin went to the club less often, and when he did, struggled to find Roberto again, regretting now getting some sort of contact info from him.

The first few months were rocky, Robin by now had found out that the boy he'd let into his home was named Valentine, or at least, that was the name he chose one day after watching tv with Robin, the boy hadn't wanted to share his old name. Many of these days consisted of Valentine excessively using the lock on the guest room door, still a bit paranoid of being around Robin. But over time, as Robin was consistently gentle and understanding, he would start opening up and hanging out with Robin more. Robin and Valentine would play together to try and let Valentine feel more normal, as well as have more genuine conversations, including talks about the future eventually. Robin asked if Valentine knew how old he was, and Valentine said that the day prior would have been his 18th birthday. They talked more, and after Valentine's approval, Robin would start helping him sign up for different classes to try new things, and also help him learn enough to recieve the planet's equivalent of a GED. Nowadays his days are mostly focused on helping Valentine learn enough to chase a dream of architecture. Things are still rough for the both of them, and misunderstandings are common, especially with the two of them having overlapping triggers (like Robin being afraid of loud noises, while Valentine falls into a panic upon breaking objects accidentally. Valentine dropped a dish once, and became hysterical after it shattered, whilst Robin was also set off from the volume of it. It was not a fun time for either of them), but overall, having eachother has helped them both immensely, Valentine giving Robin something to live for, and Robin helping Valentine feel safe again, even if slowly.

ELOHA/HUGO [Dead Wife/Adopted Son]

Robin and Eloha's relationship was a little complicated. He really did love her, but it was more between 'extremely close friend' and 'family member' rather than truly romantic. But Robin never really figured out he might be gay until after her passing, but now isn't exactly the best mindset for him to go exploring that. Regardless, he cared for her deeply still, even if the way they expressed eachother's love was untraditional in many aspects, and he truly loved their child too. The pair had prepared that they might have lost their son soon due to illness, and he was as prepared for that as someone could realistically be, but what really happened in the end has utterly destroyed him.

ZACHARIE MARTINEZ [Childhood Friend]

The two haven't properly spoken in a long time, but Robin still views Zacharie positively. The two knowing eachother since high school, Robin has seen all sorts of growth Zacharie's faced through his life, from his coming out as trans to his familial situation, and beyond. The last the two spoke it had sounded like Zacharie was struggling with someone he lived with. Robin hopes that he's okay. He would visit if he could, but Zacharie refused to ever let Robin in the apartment, and as a result Robin has never learned or even been given his address. He can only hope Zacharie will call again one day.

JORDAN SPARROW [Little Brother]

Robin hasn't spoken to either of his little brothers in a long time. They would try and keep up with eachother after Robin married Eloha, but Jordan and Jaden would often be busy running their bakery with little time to talk or catch up. After Eloha's death, their contact with eachother is basically 0. Robin feels bad about this, but can't muster the courage to give either of them a call, especially so after the public opinion of him has gotten worse. He wouldn't be able to stand it anymore if it turned out his brothers' views on him were tainted slightly by that. As kids though, they were very close, despite being the older brother, Robin would often be defended by Jordan and Jaden when getting bullied, and he appreciates that immensely. The three of them all enjoyed hanging out together.

JADEN SPARROW [Little Brother]

Same as Jordan.

ALEX SPARROW [Cousin]

The two don't properly know eachother, but have met. Their dads are brothers, but chose to no longer speak to eachother due to political differences before either Robin or Alex were ever born. As a result, the two cousins never met eachother. Alex works at the same club that Robin frequently visits, occassionally after Alex's work hours, he would have conversations with Robin, having seen him there nearly every day. They're friendly with eachother, and think it's funny they share the same last name, but have yet to figure out that being related is why they share that last name.

COIN [???]

Coin is partially responsible for mitigating Robin's public perception issues, but only somewhat. When Robin was about to have a trial to determine whether he was responsible or not, Coin reached out and gave him the name and number of a specific lawyer, one known for their good work on finding the actual facts and always managing to spin them in a way that works out for their clients. Coin was certainly right about one thing; that lawyer really could dig for the actual facts. They had managed to prove Robin innocent, even despite having to compromise and leave one particular detail out at Robin's begging, but they could not spin the tale positively enough to convince a public that had already latched onto their own conspiracy theories. Coin and Robin had spoken a few times before this, but not much, which led it to be somewhat of a shock to Robin. Most of their conversations had simply been small talk when Coin showed excitement at seeing someone with money like Robin inside of FELIS SUPERNOVAE.

ROBERTO YUN-CAPO [Friend]

The two happened to meet by chance at FELIS SUPERNOVAE one night. Robin had been on his usual daily visit when a man sitting by him happened to start up conversation after hearing Robin mumbling to himself. The two got along really well, and would talk often for the next few months. Eventually, when Valentine came into Robin's life, he stopped visiting the club/bar as often, and hasn't managed to catch Roberto there since. It makes him kinda sad. He liked having someone he could talk to again, who didn't know about everything that happened. He wishes he got some other contact info from him so that they could talk again.

VALENTINE [Adopted Son]

Robin came across Valentine by accident, Valentine had just escaped a horrific situation and accidentally rammed into Robin on the street whilst running away. Seeing the state Valentine was in, Robin immediately asked if he was okay out of concern. Valentine was visibly anxious staying in one spot instead of running, but tried to explain as best he could. Robin told Valentine to come with him, and Valentine came along with, but not without some hesitation. Eventually Valentine realized Robin was not going to hurt him, and began to relax slightly. Robin has not officially adopted him, since Valentine had just become a legal adult shortly after meeting Robin, but with how much childhood Valentine had lost thanks to his life, Robin still functionally acts like he's his father now, doing his best to help Valentine have at least somewhat of a childhood now, helping his education, and being there for him emotionally. The two have their struggles, both being wreaked by trauma of different sorts, but the situation they have is far healthier than where they started before meeting.
